Phase 1: Pre-design
This is an information gathering and documenting phase. This includes in depth research of the site to decide the best orientation of the building, which views to optimize, the best approach to the building, and more. It also includes researching the applicable zoning regulations and CC&R’s. These early insights shape the direction of the design and ensure we’re making the most of what your site has to offer.

Phase 2: Schematic Design
With the groundwork laid we can begin exploring design ideas. Using sketches, floor plan studies, and 3D models, we develop conceptual layouts that bring your vision to life. We meet regularly to collaborate and refine the design to ensure the spaces feel right for you and respond to the land. By the end of this phase you’ll have a clear understanding of the layout, scale, and overall concept for your home.

Phase 3: Design Development
This is where we bring clarity and richness to the concept. We refine floor plans, elevations, and materials inside and out. We also bring in consultants to coordinate systems that will be integrated into the design. This phase ensures that everything is thoughtfully resolved, well proportioned, and ready to move into technical development.

Phase 4: Construction Documents
In the final phase we translate the design into a precise set of architectural drawings used for permitting, pricing, and construction. Every detail is carefully documented to ensure your contractor can build the project as intended. We coordinate closely with all consultants during this phase to produce a clean and well organized set of plans that support a smoother build process.
